Pope Francis’ visit and the Catholic Faith

Pope Francis has long been admired for his open-mindedness and compassionately fair views on a variety of social issues. Pope Francis is loved for his humility, passion for the poor, and an adhering belief in building unity among people of various backgrounds and histories through interfaith dialogue. His choice to lead a simpler lifestyle and his desire for fairness has endeared him to many people.

On Jan. 15 to 19, Pope Francis will have an apostolic visit to the Philippines. His visit will focus on the victims of and situation in Eastern Visayas that was devastated by super-typhoon Yolanda in 2013.

As part of his pre-arrival, 9TV’s Pia Hontiveros will be conducting a one-on-one interview with Cardinal Luis Antonio ‘Chito’ Tagle. In this interview, Cardinal Chito Tagle will discuss his views about Pope Francis’ upcoming visit: its importance and what it means for the public in the light of the Catholic faith. Cardinal Chito Tagle will also share on what can be done as early as now to prepare for Pope Francis’ coming. Reports on Pope Francis in the age of social media and political fanfare will also be shown. Lastly, highlights on the events that occurred when Pope Francis was elected will be aired.
