The science behind it is simple. When you have a cut on your skin, it heals relatively fast. That is because the surface of the skin has numerous blood vessels running through it. In our blood, our red blood cells are responsible for healing and rejuvenation. The blood is then spun in the centrifuge, which separates the Platelet Rich Plasma (a.k.a the ‘Good Stuff) from the Platelet Poor Plasma (a.k.a the PPP, the ‘not as good stuff). The PRP is rich in platelets, which are your reservoirs of growth factors and healthy cytokines, which are pivotal when it comes to healing and also promote regeneration.
An important point to note is that the efficacy of the treatment depends on the platelet count, which is essentially the concentration of the platelets.
