Why Richard Yap chose Kapuso network

Why Richard Yap chose Kapuso networkAfter nine years of being with ABS-CBN, Richard Yap is now a certified Kapuso as he recently inked a contract with GMA Artist Center.

Days before his signing, the GMAAC released a teaser which read: “Are You ready to meet our newest Kapuso?” If you noticed, the letters R and Y were prominently accompanied by a blurred picture.

It was in early 2019 when rumors about his network transfer came out but his camp remained quiet about it. In July of this year, he made a guest appearance in the top-rating GMA noontime variety show Eat Bulaga in its “Bawal Judgmental” segment which ignited the rumor once again.

The chinky-eyed actor admits why he chose GMA and at the same time expresses his elation now that he’s part of the Kapuso family.

“It wasn’t an easy decision. I chose GMA because it’s a stable network,” he starts.

“I’m just very thankful for GMA’s warm welcome to me. To be honest, I never thought this would come about. I’m overwhelmed. Now that it’s finally here, I am so happy and proud to become part of the Kapuso list of artists.”

What could the public expect now that he’s with GMA?

“Well, expect the unexpected. I guess you can expect me to try and experiment into other genres other than the ones that I’ve done before. For a starter, please catch my guesting in Eugene Domingo’s Dear Uge and in the Boobay and Tekla Show. I also have an upcoming prime time series. I’m simply excited.”

Who among the Kapuso artists does he like to work with if ever?

“Of course, there’s Marian Rivera, Heart Evangelista, Solenn Heussaff, and Andrea Torres. It would also be great to collaborate with my good friend Jean Garcia. And yes…Michael V.,” says Richard.

In a recent interview, Pops Fernandez gave a piece of her mind regarding the rumor linking her romantically with Derek Ramsay after his break-up with Andrea Torres.

“Of course, it’s not true! People these days believe in what they hear or read right away,” she stated.

It all started when Derek posted his birthday greetings for his mother on his Instagram account on Nov. 19. In the comments section, Pops dropped her greetings that read: ‘Happy bday mommy (with smiling face and eyes emoji)!” Some netizens instantly put malice into it to which Derek explained that his mother and the Concert Queen are best friends.

This time, Pops clarified the issue.

“Actually, I opted to keep quiet because Derek and Andrea didn’t talk about their parting ways. It’s weird if I will be the one to talk, right? Besides, there’s no truth to it all. I didn’t know how the rumor started.
