During his recent guesting in the popular morning gabfest Magandang Buhay, Daniel Padilla stressed that his relationship with ladylove Kathryn Bernardo is definitely for keeps.
In his interview with the hosts, he said that he’s praying that what the two of them share right now “is until forever.”
“Marrying Kathryn is one of my future plans. Even during those times when I was still courting her, I was very vocal in saying that it’s a beach wedding that I want and she shares the same viewpoint. It’s our dream wedding actually,” he reveals.
“Sharing the same ideas is essential in a relationship. This way, things get closer to reality. You have to plan now. Like in our case, Kathryn and I are fond of going around and scout for our dream house. It’s one activity which we enjoy doing together,” the 25-year-old actor carried on.
They’ve been steadies for eight years now. Of course, the Kapamilya heartthrob reveals that they also have their low moments together. Fortunately, they were able to weather the storms, so to speak.
“Maybe, it’s because we always chose to stay no matter what. Like whenever we have problems or tussles, I would just think of all the good things that Kathryn has done for me. I look back at those times when she changed my life. I also value every single day that we shared together and all the emotions that went through it.”
“But most of all, our mutual respect for each other is one strong factor why our relationship continues to go strong. I respect her decisions and vice-versa. You know, in a relationship, give and take is very important. It just can’t be one-sided.”
Interestingly, what are Kathryn’s characteristics that endear her most to him?
“She’s got lots of outstanding traits but one thing I truly love about her is her being well-organized. She’s a good planner. She would scribble down all the things she will do for a week so as not to miss even one of these,” Daniel confessed.
The actor admittedly, he was the type of person who just goes by the day. Now, because of Kathryn, he’s learned to plan ahead.
“One thing that Kathryn also doesn’t want is getting late in appointments. She doesn’t want me to possess this habit. She always pushes me to be punctual and on time. I’m simply very thankful that there’s someone like her in my life. As I mentioned earlier, I learn a lot from her. She makes me a better person.”
Daniel believes they’re a good influence on each other.
“We’re always there to give each other moral support. Take for instance when we took a vacation in Iceland. At first, Kathryn was apprehensive to go hiking there. I encouraged her and surprisingly, she enjoyed the adventure. Undoubtedly, we grow from those experiences.”
The actor-singer, who just turned 25 on April 26, reiterated his gratitude to the girl whom he wants to spend the rest of his life with.
“To Kathryn, I just want to thank you for all the love, support, and guidance that she continues to shower me with. My partner in life, thank you! Promise, I’ll always be here for you. I will support you in all your dreams in life and will love you especially on days when you’re sad or going through something,” Daniel said.
