Sylvia Sanchez finds a new lease on lifeKapamilya actress Sylvia Sanchez can now put her mind at rest especially that she’s already home after her battle against the coronavirus disease.

Late last month, the Pamilya Ko lead star and her husband Art Atayde tested positive for the dreaded disease. Fortunately, Sylvia was confirmed to be COVID-free after her last two tests.

In her recent Facebook post, the actress thanked God and all those who prayed for her and husband’s speedy recovery. Sylvia revealed that Art had to stay in the hospital for a couple of days more for his next swab test.

The seasoned screen actress is grateful to have passed the critical stage. In her recent interview with ABS-CBN News, she said that she’s glad that she’s overcome this ordeal.

“I’ve been through a tough stage, you know. It was simply life-threatening. There’s this certain drug that affected my heart. When it was injected to me, my body didn’t respond positively. My blood pressure and the oxygen in my blood went down drastically,” she revealed.

“I learned later on that had I continued taking the medicine, it’s possible that I’d have cardiac arrest. I’m thankful that the doctors were able to stop the spread of the virus in my body. It was only during the first three days that I had difficulty in breathing. It didn’t reach the point that I had to be intubated. Thank God,” she added.

When she was in the hospital, the actress said that she kept thinking of her children, that she should be strong for them.

“I really thought of them when I was in the hospital. I’m not yet ready to leave them. I told myself, ‘Lord, I’m not yet prepared,’” she said.

Even if she’s already home, Sylvia knows she still has to be quarantined for 14 days to ensure that she won’t contaminate other members of her family. The same applies when her husband comes home, too.

The award-winning star also expressed her desire to help other patients of the dreaded disease.
