Former couple Pops and Martin reuniteMany of the fans were certainly delighted when Martin Nievera did a surprise guest appearance in the currently showing comedy flick Feelenials top-billed by AiAi delas Alas and Bayani Agbayani. He figured in a cute scene towards the ending with former wife Pops Fernandez who is one of the film’s major producers.

According to the Concert King, it’s his way of showing support to Pop’s latest venture under her DSL Productions.

“From producing concerts, now they are expanding their horizons. Of course, I can’t say no. It’s a cute part actually. I just had one shooting day. Let’s see if I will have a comeback in their upcoming projects,” Martin avers.

What did he feel when he learned he’d have a cameo role in Feelenials?

“I admit that I was a bit nervous. I didn’t know what to do at first. Pops just told me that we’d have a shooting in Nuvali and that I had to be in hood and jeans. So, I had no idea what my role is until I got there,” he shares.

Interestingly, did he receive a talent fee for his guest appearance in the potboiler?

“For the record, there’s none. If I charge, it would be even worse for me, I think. I wouldn’t be invited for Christmas dinner anymore. But seriously, I didn’t have TF for that,” he says.

His sons are also part of the movie. Robin did the scoring which is his first time while Ram was involved in that part where there’s animation.

“So, it’s a family thing as you can see.”

Many are asking about his next stage collaboration with Pops.

“You mean, concerts? We’re going on tour again, this time, in the United States. Then, a Valentine show is being planned. It has become a tradition that every heart’s day, Pops and I hold a concert,” says Martin.

Meanwhile, the Concert King revealed that he is supposed to do a movie opposite Maricel Soriano under Regal Entertainment, only the project got shelved.

“It didn’t push through. I think Maricel got very busy with her current teleserye, The General’s Daughter with Angel (Locsin). Perhaps, when she gets a break from her rigid taping schedule, we can probably discuss.”

Does he have any regret with this development?

“Not really. I mean, I understand she’s very busy. The same goes for me. But it’s flattering that there’s a good project like that for me and Maricel. For one, I have a good role as her love interest. I’m the usual rich, good-looking ‘balikbayan’ who has difficulty speaking Tagalog. I just hope it pushes through eventually,” ends Martin.

There are some exciting twists in the primetime line-up of GMA.

Now that Kara Mia has just ended its run, the management decided to replace the timeslot it vacated with Sahaya starring Bianca Umali and Miguel Tanfelix. This will put them in direct competition with ABS-CBN’s longest-running action soap Ang Probinsyano top-billed by Coco Martin.

Since it aired, Sahaya has been putting in impressive numbers in the ratings chart which makes it a worthy opponent of Ang Probinsyano.

Meanwhile, Derek Ramsay’s The Better Woman with Andrea Torres is next in the roster. Its direct competitor is Angel Locsin’s The General’s Daughter. This will be an exciting match for sure. The two have different plots which gives the viewer more variety in their choice.

As for the rom-com Love You Two starring Jennylyn Mercado and Gabby Concepcion, it will remain in its timeslot. As it is, the show is faring well in the ratings game and holds its own against the Jodi Sta. Maria-Bela Padilla starrer Mea Culpa: Sino ang May Sala?.

This is an exciting development. For sure, all said programs will do their best to improve each episode to the delight of their loyal viewers.
