One of the most promising candidates in Binibining Pilipinas 2020 is Manila representative Patrizia Mariah Laureola Garcia with no less than the Mayor of Manila himself, Francisco “Isko” Domagoso, backing her up.

Just turned 26, Garcia, an Education and Psychology graduate at De La Salle University and now completing her Master’s degree in Public Administration at the University of the Philippines, is competing on the platform of Filipino Nationalism.

Representing the city of Manila, Patrizia Mariah Laureola Garcia is one of the official candidates in this year’s edition of Binibining Pilipinas.

“My desire is to promote Filipino nationalism, the importance of identifying ourselves as Filipinos, knowing where we came from, our history, and how we can forge a strong Filipino identity. I want send a message to the Filipino people, that it’s never too late to manifest unity. I think that what is happening in the City of Manila is a solid proof that positive change is not impossible, that the Filipino people can be disciplined. Mayor Isko has made these changes possible,” Garcia said during her courtesy call at the Office of the Mayor.

“I’m also helping promote the city’s tourism and heritage in line with the beautification efforts of the Mayor. An example is the new look of Jones Bridge which is an important aspect in history of the city,” Garcia added.
