Cyrille Payumo, the Mutya Pilipinas 2019 first runner-up, who replaced disqualified Mutya Pilipinas-Tourism International 2019 Tyra Goldman, is now in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to vie for the 22nd Miss Tourism International crown.

The 22-year-old, 5-foot-9 native of Pampanga, and a graduate of BS Tourism Management from Holy Angel University in Angeles City, will compete against more than 40 delegates from around the world.

“We come to a decision to send Cyrille who was born in the Philippines. She was surprised by the news, but she has risen above her fears and apprehension and trained very hard, for less than a month, and now she is ready,” said Cory Quirino, president of Mutya Pilipinas organization.

Tan Sri Datuk Danny Ooi , President of the Miss Tourism International organization, told me that this year they have tighter contract and they have to follow the rule that the delegate should be born in their country of representation. Goldman, who is a Filipina, was born in Nevada, USA. We respect the rules of the organization and assure them of our 100 percent compliance,” said Quirino during the send-off press conference for Payumo held at CWC Interiors, in BGC, Taguig City.

She assured that Goldman will still be given the opportunity to compete in another respectable international competition.
