The bombThis week’s biggest bomb that sent shockwaves to the fans of Kokoy de Santos and Elijah Canlas, the main leads of BL series Gameboys, is the movie trailer of the much-awaited film adaptation of their hit drama.

That’s not all, the sophomore season of Gameboys will transpire after the showing of the Ivan Andrew Payawal directed cinema feature. The series will have seven episodes and will air in a free TV station.

All of these were made known during the more than three hours World Gameboys Day presentation in the digital platforms of The Idea First Company. These declarations from Perci Intalan were received by the Cairo and Gavreel adoring public with cheers, the surprises accepted wholeheartedly and the aftermath ecstasy from it, without a doubt, difficult to contain and most expected

What did the Gameboys the movie offer? Top answer, its most striking catch phrase, “Parting is such sweet sorrow.” This line came from the bittersweet romantic tragedy “Romeo and Juliet.” This was uttered by the restless Juliet after the love of her life left her at the balcony of the House of Capulet in Verona. “‹

Majority of us are aware of how the tale of this star-crossed lovers happened and concluded. Thus, it is imperative for to request and pray that Melpomene, one of the nine Muses who is responsible for anything and everything tragic, will not whisper to the ears of Ash Malanum, the resident scriptwriter of the phenomenal Filipino boy’s love drama. Tragedy has no place in the rainbow-hued world of Cai and Gav.

There is a portion in the trailer wherein one can hear how Mendoza wailed as  Lazaro try his best to appease the inconsolable young lover. Mendoza and Lazaro are the last names of the characters of De Santos and Canlas.

“Hanggang Sa Huli” by SB19 serves as the official anthem of the movie is number two on the answer list. And boy, did they employ the song oh so perfectly. When one hears the lyrics, “Walang iba, walang iba, wala nang hahanapin pa. Pag-ibig ko'y sa 'yo, sa 'yo hanggang sa huli” and the scenes being highlighted are flashed, something in you breaks and cracks, you immediately want to scream! The pain you feel is too real as if an arrow hits your heart, bull’s eye! Fatally!

The sudden arrival of Tita Susan, portrayed by seasoned character actress Angie Castrence is the number three not-so-appreciated anchor. Her sudden arrival and presence and the dismissal of the partners romance as child’s play agitated majority of the CaiReel supporters.

Others opine that Tita Susan is the voice of reason that hopefully, will bring clarity, decency and morality to the nubiles obviously ruled by their loins, hormones and hearts.

Pearl Gatdula, the character given life by Adrianna So was also in the movie trailer. Hers, as always, was a comely and welcome presence.

The curiosity about the newest BL drama love triangle, Kyle Velino as Terrence Carreon, Miggy Jimenez as Wesley Torres and Kych Minemoto as Achilles De Dios cannot also be denied.

All the reasons why we loved and supported Gameboys were all evident in the trailer, the undeniable chemistry of Kokoy and Elijah plus their A-game in acting. The gorgeous cinematography, the movie version had a gloss and richness to it. The engaging story arcs with the conclusions and resolutions being passed around in leading social media sites. And the reality that love blossoms, thrives, works even if it is shared by persons of the same gender assignment.

Gameboys the movie has an end of July playdate. Although the name of the digital company where it will be shown is already announced, people are still crossing all the body part they can cross, that the love story of Gavreel and Cairo, and their darling of a posse composed with Pearl, Terrence, Wes and Achilles in it, will unfold in the cinemas.

Call me old-fashioned or even sentimental but this different kind of love in a movie deserves to be viewed on the silver screen.

Gavreel and Cairo has earned the right to be experienced and loved in a larger-than-life manner. See them at the movies is a merit for all the good, kilig, tears and joy they gave and continue to give all Gameboys fans and supporters.

With all these certitudes, Gameboys being the leader of the Pinoy BL movement is now sealed with Gavreel’s and Cairo’s true love’s kiss and yes, we will be witness to their new forever and happily ever after.
