Are we ready for a change, especially with our primetime television viewing habits?

The melodramatic twist in the evening program staples has found its newest rival in TV5’s glorious quest to changing the entertainment landscape on primetime.

“TV5’s rebranding is anchored in providing Filipinos with inspiring and entertaining shows especially in these trying times. With our recent merger with Cignal, we are beefing up its programming with the launch of exciting new programs,” says programming head Perci Intalan.

Two of its official game changers are Bawal na Game Show and Fill in the Bank featuring the power comic tandem of Wally Bayola and Paolo Ballesteros, and Jose Manalo and Pokwang, respectively.

“Wally and I act as twins Bebe Ghorl and Barby Ghoul, and we are the ones who present the challenges to the contestants. Kami rin ang main source of their distraction and yes, mas pasaway kami sa contestants kasi we are the ones who tease them to break the rules,” Ballesteros shares.

Bayola reveals: “Yung winner na hilong-hilo siya ang kasali sa final round kung saan double ang chances of winning. P50,000 in each ang iuwi ng pinaka-pasaway.”

The show aims to bring its one-of-a-kind game experience to its audiences at home. They will not only enjoy watching the show from the comforts of their home, but they also get the chance to participate as home partners of the studio contestants.

Paolo Ballesteros

“We want the show to become a breather. Yung wait time out muna from the all the things na bawal sa ngayon. Kami ni Wally, we want to bring entertainment to households all over the country. Feeling ko, perfect ang show namin in spreading hope and optimism sa lahat.”

Wally, in agreement, concludes,“We don’t want people to be sad. Grabe na ang burden at trouble na meron tayo ngayon because of the pandemic.  This is our modest share to make everyone feel that they are not alone in this trying time.”

With its master Manalo and mistress Pokwang, Fill in the Bank, on the other hand gives contestants a chance of winning up to P150,000 in every episode.

“It excites me to know who are guests are going to be. Yung may kakatok sa dressing room mo na someone you have worked before na na-miss mo talaga. This show is so much fun,” says Pokwang.

Fill in the Bank airs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7:30 p.m., while Bawal na Game Show airs 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, and 7:00 p.m. every Saturday.
