Congenial. Charismatic. A good conversationalist. And yes, chiseled. How did I manage to discover his most defined body part?

During a short and sweet photo opportunity moment, my hands were on his abdominal area. He even requested for me to give it a rub, and of course, I acquiesced to it. So pleasurable to feel his rock hard and solid abdominal area and for sure, all of us will get to see more of it now that he is the latest brand ambassador of a trusted underwear brand, Handford.

Ecstatic is the best adjective to describe Vin Abrenica during the press launch most especially when he says, “I am excited. It feels really great to be part of a great company like Hanford. Dreams do come true and I really believe it because, for the longest time, I’ve been dreaming to have something like this. I’ve been working out every day and also praying that this day would come. I would like to thank them, for the trust. I hope I will be able to help the brand become even more successful.”

He carries on, “Anything that you have for the first time is special — your first love, first kiss and so is your first endorsement. Sobrang happy ko. Sobrang kilig ang pakiramdam ko.”

As the brand ambassador, expect him to do mall shows, visits to special branches that carry and sell the brand and of course, the all-important billboard pictorial.

Admits the relatively young actor, “I am really excited to see myself in a billboard, on EDSA. I won’t mind posing wearing only my underwear.”

Vin Abrenica will soon have his own huge tarp on Edsa after signing a new contract, his first endorsement, as the face of a popular underwear brand.

He shares, “When it comes to underwear colors, I am on the adventurous. Of course, may usual whites and blacks. A red underwear is fine with me. You know, even pink, kung meron. Wearing colored briefs, sexy siya to wear for me.”

Abrenica adds, fit (medium is his underwear size) and feel (fabric of the underwear) are his top considerations in choosing an undergarment and “gusto ko talaga yung nakakagalaw ako. Hindi masyadong masikip. I don’t like wearing an underwear na parang ipit na ipit ako.”

A question of national importance, will the members of the pink community be pleased, when his billboard finally becomes public? Abrenica’s confident reply: “I think so. Hindi pa ako nagbi-brief, ‘di ba? Sa mga pictorial, hindi pa. Pants lang ako lagi.”

With regard to replacing Mikael Daez as the brand’s ambassador, he says: “Mikael is a good person. Hanga ako sa kanya kasi ang favorite part of my body is my jawline, mapanga. So, siya, mapanga rin. So, nakikita ko na meron kaming  similarity. So, ako, he’s always been the face of Hanford. Kapag iniisip mo ang Hanford, Mikael Daez, automatic ‘yun. I’m very thankful sa kanya kasi kailangan kong maka-level sa standard that he has set.”

He laughs out loud when asked, between him and Daez, who does he think is sexier? His swift reply after the hearty guffaw: “Can we just ask our respective partners? Let’s ask Megan Young,  the wife of Mikael and from my end, you can direct the question to Sophie Albert.”

Of course, no conversation with Aljur Abrenica’s younger brother will be complete without talking about his beloved Sophie.

Started their careers via TV5’s reality show, Artista Academy, where they emerged as winners, he sheepishly declares, with his face turning red, “Noon pa man, crush ko na siya.”

At present, Vin and Sophie are in different networks, the first is with ABS-CBN and his inamorata works in GMA 7.

Vin says of this predicament, “Belonging to different networks, ang effect sa amin, maganda naman. She is happy with my work in my action drama and when she became the partner of Alden Richards in The Gift, I was so proud of her. That’s Alden Richards. Kahit lagi silang pagtambalin , I don’t mind because as screen partners, they look good together.”

As real-life partners, Vin divulges, “I am happy with my relationship with Sophie. We’ve been together for some time, seven years. And you know what, when you guys get to see us together, parang our relationship is just starting. We’re able to build a certain kind of trust, we have a different level of communication, and I just cannot imagine my life without her.”

Are wedding bells ringing for them, sooner rather later, Vin’s eyes light up and reacts, “In His perfect time. We have talked about it, yes. But the conversation wasn’t that serious. Everybody would know when that time comes.”

Now, we all know why this Hanford ambassador is so befitting to be called as the Mr. Charmer.
