Senator Imee Marcos inducted the officers of the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd), led by its president Eugene Asis of People’s Journal, at the Kamuning Bakery Café on Thursday, October 14.
Senator Marcos is a staunch supporter of the local film industry who has produced a number of monumental films like Oro, Plata, Mata and Himala under Experimental Cinema of the Philippines. Recently, the senator also co-produced the controversial hit film, Maid in Malacañang, which is now making the rounds of the European theater circuit, after its Middle East, Canada and US tour.
Meanwhile, SPEEd officers are honored for the support of Senator Marcos. The entertainment editors group, which started as a social club, has also extended its efforts to scholarship and reach-out programs, and annually gives awards to deserving film actors and artists through its Eddys Awards, slated this year in November.
