In the recent virtual media conference for the latest installment of the hit GMA-7 primetime offering I Can See You: AlterNate, lead stars Dingdong Dantes and Beauty Gonzalez have only good words for each other.

“It’s such a beautiful experience working with Beauty,” said Dong. “I admire and respect her artistry. I think she’s a brilliant artist, not just in acting but in other fields as well.”

“Oftentimes, we would talk about her deep involvement in the arts. In fact, I learned a lot from her when it comes to that. But I think, more importantly, I witnessed how committed she is to her craft. I’m hats-off to her professionalism,” he went on.

For her part, Beauty averred that working with Dingdong is a dream come true.

“When I joined the Kapuso, he’s one of the male stars who I wanted to work with. That’s why I’m so happy that GMA gave me the opportunity to share the screen with him. I’m so lucky that I got to work with him. For one, he’s very easy to work with. He’s also professional and he would take care of you on the set. He’s intuitive as well.”

In the story, Dingdong breathes life into dual roles: that of Nate and Michael and he is pleased that he was able to pull it off.

“Beauty is definitely one positive factor. In some scenes, I got surprised because she has given different nuances for the dual characters. I guess one key to the success of our maiden screen partnership is teamwork. It’s like a dance where you have to move as one,” Dong stated.

To which the former Kapamiya star responded, “I’m very proud with this project. The trailer is so impressive. It’s very intelligent and very well executed. There’s drama in here, romance, action, and suspense. What more can the audience ask for?”

The past months witnessed the transfer of various stars (particularly ABS-CBN talents) to GMA like: Bea Alonzo, John Lloyd Cruz, Richard Yap, Pokwang, Beauty Gonzalez, Xian Lim and Albert Martinez.

For resident Kapuso wards like Gabby Eigenmann, does this development pose a threat to him?

“Threatened? Not really, but excited, yes!” he stated. “It’s nice to see artists exploring new homes. All of us need to work anyways.”

The thought of collaborating with these stars thrills the talented actor.

“Honestly, I can’t wait to work with them in the near future. I think that’s wonderful. I hope to experience camaraderie with the new faces in the network!”

He’s been with GMA for the longest time. Interestingly, didn’t he consider at one point to switch stations?

“No, it’s not going to happen. I’m already home and is just very grateful that my home studio is taking good care of me all these times,” Gabby said.
