From the 14-year-old boy that first captured the hearts of televiewers in the talent search Protégé, Ruru Madrid has come a long way in the entertainment industry as an actor, model, and performer. The homegrown talent remains a loyal Kapuso as he renewed his contract with GMA Network on Oct. 4.
Ruru expressed his gratitude to GMA for believing in his potential from day one up to now, “I’m very thankful for the network’s. trust. From the very start of my career, sila na ‘yung unang naniwala. Bilang ganti sa tiwala na binibigay nila sa akin, every time na may ginagawa akong projects, sobrang pinagbubuti ko.”
In his first six years in showbiz, Ruru already showcased his charm and talent in notable shows such as Let The Love Begin, The Half Sisters, My Destiny, Encantadia, Sherlock Jr., Inday Will Always Love You, and TODA One I Love. Last August, he also launched his first-ever single entitled ‘Nawawala’ under GMA Music. He also stars in the upcoming film CaraXJagger alongside Jasmine Curtis-Smith.
GMA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Felipe L. Gozon eyes a bright future for Ruru’s career, “We’re happy for Ruru as our homegrown talent. He’s become a good actor. I think maganda ang future ni Ruru lalo na dito sa atin.”
Meanwhile, GMA Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable is proud of Ruru’s accomplishments in his craft, “We give them projects that will further hone their talents but that's just part of the whole effort, the rest of the effort is Ruru's. I have to give that to Ruru because from the very beginning that he came out of Protégé, he’s shown so much improvement.”
Atty. Gozon, Rasonable, and GMA Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara, and GMA Artist Center Senior Talent Manager Vic del Rosario joined Ruru during his renewal of contract.
