GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF) received a Mitsubishi Strada, a 4×4 pick-up from one of the country’s leading automotive brands, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), to help transport materials and donations in kind for GMAKF’s relief operations and various projects.
Held on April 3 at the GMA Network Center, the signing and turnover ceremonies were led by (from right) GMAKF Founder and Ambassador Mel C. Tiangco and GMAKF EVP and COO Rikki Escudero-Catibog together with MMPC representatives Senior VP for Corporate Division Yasuki Maruyama, and VP for Corporate Public Relations Renato Lampano.
“What we can offer you from your kind donation is nothing but goodness also. You can be sure that this vehicle will be used to serve our underprivileged. You can be sure that it will be bringing food, water, school supplies to children who don’t have any. It will be bringing materials for construction and homes for those who don’t have homes. It will be bringing blessings to our country in exchange for your kindness,” Tiangco expressed.
Escudero-Catibog also shared GMAKF’s long association with MMPC. “Our very first 4×4 vehicle was a Mitsubishi Strada bought for us by GMA Network and it has served us for 12 years. On the occasion of Mitsubishi Motors’ 100th anniversary in the Philippines, they donated P1 million to build our very first Kapuso Tulay para sa Kaunlaran. This was our very first hanging bridge in Camarines Sur which also saved a lot of lives during typhoon Usman this January 2019.”
“This year, Mitsubishi has once again supported GMAKF by donating a brand new 4×4 vehicle so we can use it for our relief operations and for our many other projects and programs all across the country. This pick-up truck is highly reliable and dependable for your off-road emergency relief operations across the country and to its remotest community.
