“Everyone has their own best versions of themselves, and it all starts with a best beginning, which is best when it begins now.”

'Best Begins Now' event host Sam YG with panelists Pia Wurtzbach, Michelle Gumabao, Francis Libiran and Jonas Gaffud.

This was the dominant mantra at the Glorietta Activity Center on Friday when #BestBeginsNow, a campaign that inspires people to start living the best version of themselves, was launched.

“Becoming your best starts with small steps. We understand it takes hard work and commitment to get there so we want to help inspire people,” said Aquafina Brand Manager Melai Lazaro-Javier.

Aquafina’s Philippine ambassadors teamed up to inspire to start everyone’s best beginnings in the maze-like structure activity area divided into three sections: Beauty, Content Creation, and Hosting.

Beauty Like a Queen section was led by Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and Miss Globe-Philippines 2018 Michelle Gumabao who talked about the beauty of transitions and being stubborn with your dreams.

“There were moments you even think, am I doing the right thing? Is this for me, why do am I keep getting rejected? Why do I keep losing, why do I keep going through these struggles? It will all pay up in the end. I was really sure what I wanted to do, I was really sure that I wanted to be Miss Universe, I was really firm about it. I’m just glad that I did not give up on that dream. Otherwise I wouldn’t be here right now,” Wurtzbach shared.

Celebrity designer Francis Libiran together with Jonas Gaffud and Albert Kurniawan encouraged everyone to feel more confident and proud in one’s skin, and to be able to choose your own aesthetics that fits you best.

“Try to focus on your own aesthetics, which is very important. You need to know yourself and ask who you are as a designer. And it is making that decision, to be the best in your own field, it starts from there. Know your own aesthetics because you don’t want to be labeled, by copying. There is a fulfillment with your own aesthetics as a designer because you’ll stick with it,” advised by Libiran to upcoming designers and for those who are struggling in the field.

Make it a Trend section focused on content creation which social media maven award-winning entrepreneur Martine Cajucom pledged to motivate everyone to “create content online that is relevant and authentic to one self,” and spoke about personal branding and how one could use it to their own benefit.

Moreover, people liked to post food online and that’s what Hey Handsome chef Nicco Santos and food stylist Chichi Tullao taught how to make the simplest dishes picturesque with proper props and food styling for it tells one’s story.

Lastly, Magic 89.9 hosts Sam YG and Suzy Gamboa owned the stage in the Host Like a Pro section as they both brought up tips in being a radio DJ or hosts such as how to maintain composure during live shows and keeping the conversation fluid to avoid dead air.

Furthermore, the Magic 89.9 Junior Jocks headed their audition booth for five lucky aspiring radio DJs and hosts for a fun experience and mentorship on how to be a DJ for a day.
