Moira de la Torre

Fresh from winning the top prize for the song “Titibo Tibo” in Himig Handog, millennials’ singer went viral once again when she uploaded a cover version of the popular Pinkfong song, “Baby Shark.” Netizens agree that you can give Moira any kind of song, even a telephone directory, and she can turn it into a sentimental piece. As of this writing, the viral song cover has been viewed more than three million times.

Anne Curtis

She is officially one of our favorite female celebrities because she’s one those few stars who put their fame and fortune to good use. In September, Anne, through her foundation Dream Machine, organized The Color Run Dream, the five-kilometer paint race attended by celebrities and sport enthusiasts. Last week, the actress and TV host donated the proceeds of this fun race worth P7.5 million to UNICEF. Now, she’s thinking of coming up with another project that could possibly allow her to help more people in need.

Rocco Nacino

His appearance on the Bench Under the Stars stage will go down in history as one of the most daring acts in the biennial underwear fashion show, but despite the numerous memes his “nakedness” has created, his recent achievement in the academe overshadowed them all. Last Friday, Rocco graduated Cum Laude with a Master of Arts degree in Nursing. Little did many people know, while juggling his time between tapings and other showbiz commitments, he also went to school. He is truly an inspiration not just among his peers but also to everyone who wanted to pursue their studies.

People …are not talking about

The Promise of Forever

Popularity doesn’t equate to a good show, but this romantic drama, which has a touch of little fantasy, is not popular to begin with. No wonder the series only lasted two months on air. “The big-budget series” and its cliché ending just registered a TV rating of 4.7 percent, according to AGB Nielsen, or 1.2 points lower than the Rocco Nacino and Sanya Lopez– starrer Haplos, its direct rival. That figure was even way lower than the rating it got on its premiere. We guess it’s better to cut it short than giving it more time to humiliate itself in the numbers game.

Dingdong Dantes

GMA Network is calling him the Primetime King but people can hardly call him the same. Apparently, the few shows that he starred in didn’t make any ripple on primetime. We can’t even remember any series that he’s part of in the last few years that tickled televiewers’ interest.  Take the book 2 of Alyas Robin Hood for example. The first season wasn’t a performer in the ratings game and the second season was a disaster. His mother network should come up with a better moniker fit for his stature and performance.

Xander Ford

No, he wasn’t missing. The “internet personality” just wanted to have a time off after feeling exhausted in the past few weeks being in the limelight. It’s weird that a person who seeks too much attention now hates being in the public eye. In hindsight, this novelty “online star” should just savor this moment. Once a new social media name rises from obscurity, Xander will just be another face people see in Internet memes.
