Kiko Estrada carries a household name in showbiz but he’s gradually carving his own mark in the business. For him, the journey isn’t easy but he makes sure to surround himself with people – his fans and supporters –who can be a source of motivation that gives him an extra push to be better.
As he turned a year older, instead of having a big celebration, he invited some of his fans to an intimate get together on June 20 at the Kondanda Archery Range in Eastwood City. “I’m very happy to be spending this day with my fans who’ve been supporting me ever since. In our lives, merong mga taong nagiging bahagi ng buhay natin who will love and support us unconditionally. Kaya naman I chose to celebrate my birthday with them. It’s also my simple way of thanking them sa walang sawa nilang suporta,” shared the Kapuso star.
The party was hosted by fellow GMA Artist Center stars Arrianne Bautista and Yasser Marta. They facilitated the short program where Kiko gave a short and sweet message to his fans before playing archery. After having fun over games, laughter and popcorn, Kiko felt very happy to be able to give joy to his solid supporters.
Meanwhile, aging gracefully is the 61-year old Chef Boy Logro who decided to celebrate his birthday with a purpose. On June 22, he invited the GEMS Heart Banduria Group, one of the beneficiaries of ChildFund Philippines to his 7 Flavors Restaurant in San Juan. ChildFund Philippines is a non-governmental organization that acts on the protection of children and focuses on their education.
Instead of wishing something for himself, Chef Boy instead offered a prayer of thanks. “Lagi kong sinasabi na hindi na ‘ko humihingi sa Panginoon, kundi lagi akong nagpapasalamat dahil ‘yung binigay niya sa ‘kin, grabe- siksik, liglig, umaapaw. Alam n’yo naman saan inabot ng aking pinag-aralan. I [did] not really graduate from high school pero binigyan [ako] ng Panginoon [ng maraming blessings],” he said.
A short program was hosted by Top One Project member Joshua Jacobe where the kids played the banduria and performed for Chef Boy. The chef-TV host was filled with joy seeing young ones celebrate the Filipino culture through music. Impressed with their performance, he invited the children to guest in his show, Idol Sa Kusina. The program ended with Joshua’s song number, in which he acknowledged the kind heart of Chef Boy.
