Kapuso leading ladies celebrate another year by giving back

Celebration and giving thanks are more fun when shared with people who matter. And as Kapuso prime stars Kris Bernal, Julie Anne San Jose, and Andrea Torres turned a year older, they spent their birthdays in a meaningful way with people who are close to their hearts.

Bernal, who just turned 28, decided to take a leap in her career and posed for the cover of a men’s magazine. It was courageous on her part, and she has her fans to thank for that. Her gratitude came in a form of a karaoke party, which she personally organized to make sure her fans would have fun.

“This is the least I can do to return their love. They are always there for me, so kailangan ‘di ba, I make time for them too. Because to be honest, I feel very lucky to have these people around me who are supportive of me kahit anong mangyari.”

With her fans’ support, Bernal keeps motivated to keep growing as an artist. Now that she is about to star in the afternoon prime series Impostora, she is determined to challenge herself and show a different side of her skills in acting.

Julie Anne San Jose says her fans are her most treasured blessing. Known for her warm affection towards her supporters, she invited some of them to a bowling game in Quezon City where they exchanged life updates with one another, just like a typical barkada.

Her fans initiated the #JAPSMonth project as a gift, in which they would tweet and trend something about Julie Anne for the entire month of May.

The Kapuso star still gets overwhelmed with her fans’ dedication, “They’re doing it every year, and hindi sila nagsasawa. Grabe ang suporta talaga nila sa akin. Sobrang thankful talaga ako and blessed to have them.”

Meanwhile, a charity institution that caters to children with special needs was granted a day with Andrea Torres. To celebrate her birthday, the Kapuso actress joined the children of REACH Foundation in watching the local animated film Urduja at Cinema ’76. She engaged them in fun discussions and played with them, bringing out their beautiful smiles.

“This is more than a celebration. I enjoy doing this because I get the opportunity to heighten public awareness towards these angels that God sent us from heaven. Let’s understand them better and do what we can to attend to their special needs. They deserve all our love,” the Kapuso star shared.

Torres is an advocate of children with special needs. Having a brother who is diagnosed with Down’s Syndrome, she personally chose this charity to empower his brother.
