We usher in the new year with the Miss Universe 2022 pageant, now under a new owner/organization of Thailand-based JKN Global Group, kicking off in New Orleans, USA. Philippine bet Celeste Cortesi is expected to make waves and give the rival powerhouse countries a run for their money.

The year that passed, we saw most of the country’s representatives suffer a string of losses abroad despite very good showing, while some managed to win in new or lesser-known pageants.

In March, Kathleen Paton was crowned Miss Eco International 2022 in Egypt, the second Filipina to win after Cynthia Thomalla in 2018, and the only major victory for the country in 2022.
