Television host Boy Abunda was firm when he said that he was going back to the small screen. Though he was tightlipped on which network he is going to be part of, he said his return is 100 percent certain.

The King of Talk also admitted that he has been entertaining talks with GMA Network and his mother studio, ABS-CBN, is aware of these professional conversations.

“There’s no reason why my ties with ABS-CBN should be affected by these talks. I do my work whenever they call me. But at the same time, I have a very good relationship with the bosses and staff of GMA-7,” Abunda told the press during an event organized by Rana Pharmaceutical Inc. at Luxent Hotel, Quezon City. Abunda, along with Ellen Adarna,  is an endorser of the company that distributes food and health supplements.

“I’ve been jobless for three years. At the moment, it’s not certain which TV network am going to be part of. What is certain though is that I will be back on TV when I arrive from the US,” he carried on.

Abunda’s US trip includes a hosting job at the 12th annual TOFA Awards happening on September 16 at the historic Town Hall on Times Square. After that, the 66-year-old TV personality will host a product launch of Olivia Quido skincare together with reigning Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu.

“I am going to the US to host TOFA Awards this September. When I return, I’m going back to television,” Abunda affirmed.

Ellen plans to return to showbiz when her son, Elias, turns seven

Television has been Abunda’s playground for three decades now. His television debut happened in 1994 when he hosted GMA’s showbiz-oriented program Show & Tell with Gretchen Barretto, Ai-Ai delas Alas, and Lolit Solis.

“Iba yung rhythm, yung kinang, yung mga ilaw ng TV. I don’t experience those things on social media where I can do a show even when I’m alone. It’s a different fulfillment when you do TV,” Abunda said.

While Abunda is ecstatic over his television return, actress Ellen Adarna confessed that she’s not going back to acting anytime soon.

“Nobody misses coming home at 5 in the morning,” the 34-year-old Ellen said in jest. “I promised myself that I’d return to acting when my son turns seven. And I do have plans to get pregnant again. So, it’s another seven years.”

In August last year, Ellen starred in a sitcom on TV5. But despite the pandemic and new protocols in television production, tapings still require a longer time according to her.

“I thought the pandemic changed that but no, it’s the same. So, I don’t miss location shoots and be away for days. But I’m not entirely going to take a break from showbiz, doing endorsements and attending events are still part of showbiz. I would still be pretty much around,” she explained.

Ellen confessed that apart from leading a healthy lifestyle, being active and taking food supplements is part of her preparation to get pregnant. She and her husband Derek Ramsay wanted to have a baby by 2024, which is the Year of the Dragon.“Hopefully, it’s going to be easy [pregnancy] because I didn’t have any problem when I had Elias. That’s why I take care of my health. And since Derek and I were both born in the Year of the Dragon, we wanted to have a baby born under the same Chinese zodiac sign,” she ended.
