It’s official, Kim Garam will be leaving LE SSERAFIM, one of the newest K-pop girl groups, after being embroiled in school bullying controversies.

Kim Garam debuted with LE SSERAFIM on May 2 with their mini album FEARLESS and a music video for the title track with the same name.

Entertainment Company, Source Music, released a statement earlier announcing the termination of its exclusive contract with Kim Garam.

“We would like to provide information on the decision made in regards to LE SSERAFIM member KIM GARAM and plans for the future activities of LE SSERAFIM,” the agency said after temporarily halting Kim Garam’s activities last month.

Source Music added, “Our company has decided to terminate the exclusive contract with KIM GARAM. We extend our sincerest apologies to our fans and to those who have shown love and support to the group for causing you concern over the controversy involving the member.”

Kim Garam faced school violence allegations immediately after their debut, which Source Music initially denied. The company continued its statement by announcing that the activities of LE SSERAFIM will continue, “We will spare no effort to support the group to grow further as artists through their music and performance.”
