She also seemed genuine in her apology, which she posted online, and understood where her critics’ perspective. Nobody wants to mess with protective moms and their kids, especially mother-daughter tandem Annabelle Rama and Ruffa Gutierrez. Annabelle posted a cryptic tweet, possibly meant for Congresswoman Rowena Guanzon, telling them to stop spreading rumors about her daughter. It’s sweet to see Annabelle protecting her children despite their age, but maybe it’s time to let Ruffa handle this alone. Silence is also an option, just saying.

She proved to everyone, especially naysayers, that she could be part of the Bb. Pilipinas competition. So far, Herlene, a.k.a Hipon Girl, wowed everyone with her performance and photoshoots, except her latest one, where she’s sporting an afro. There’s an ongoing debate about whether it’s cultural appropriation or acceptable, and Herlene has yet to comment on the situation. The jury’s still out, but maybe it’ll do Herlene good to stick to fashion trends unrelated to specific cultures except hers.
