BLACKPINK announces comeback, ‘largest world tour’ in August

After a two-year hiatus, BLACKPINK is in the final stages of recording a new album according to an announcement made on July 6 by a representative from the group’s management, YG Entertainment.

The South Korean girl group will shoot its music video this July and drop new music the following month, the representative added.

“A lot of ‘BLACKPINK-esque’ music has been completed with much effort over a long period of time,” the representative says. 

The source further said that the group will go on an international tour, “In order to expand BLACKPINK’s emotional connection with fans all over the world, they will set out for the largest-scale world tour in K-pop girl group history until the end of the year along with their comeback.”

BLACKPINK’s last record, THE ALBUM, was the quartet’s first full-length album released in October 2020, and it peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with its title track “How You Like That” breaking three world records.
