On a glitzy coronation night held at the Mall of Asia Arena Saturday night, Filipino Italian Silvia Celeste Cortesi was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2022. The title earned her the right to represent the country in the 71st edition of the Miss Universe happening later this year.
As one of the most decorated candidates in the 3rd edition of MUPh, the 24-year-old model who previously represented the Philippines at Miss Earth 2018 where she finished as a Top 8 finalist, edged out 31 other delegates to win the coveted crown.
During the question and answer portion, Cortesi was asked by host Pia Wurtzbach: “If you could stop time for a day, how would you spend it?”
“If I could stop time, I would spend it with my family, especially mother. It’s been two years since I haven’t spent time with my family because they live in Italy, and I came here in the Philippines just by myself. If I had a chance to spend one day, I would definitely be with my mom, and I would just tell her how much I love her and I miss her,” was her heartfelt response.
