The highly-anticipated drama series from GMA Network Prima Donnas is down to its last episodes after months of drama-filled scenes, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats. Stars Jillian Ward, Althea Ablan, and Sofia Pablo headline the series and demonstrates their acting prowess by breathing life into the characters of the three Donnas.

Staying true to the series’ compelling nature, the finale of Prima Donna promises to be just as surprising. Jillian even teases that there are numerous revelations about the show fans wouldn’t want to miss.

“Ang dapat talagang abangan is kung happy ending yung show namin or baka may suspense pa rin sa ending,” the young actress said during an online media conference for the show’s finale.

Jillian even joked about the possibility of a third season. Since its first season, Prima Donnas was rife with twists and turns in the plot. It’s this level of story-telling from the production and creative teams that prompted the renewal of the series for a second season early this year.

Moreover, Althea added that the finale has the possibility of revealing Bethany’s (Sheryl Cruz) secret to the family.

Since its first season, Prima Donnas challenged the three young actresses to add levels of emotion to their characters and make them more relatable to the audience. Although the second season is coming to a close, the cast holds unforgettable memories and experiences from the series.

For Althea, it was her growth as an actress and how she imbibed this maturity in her character, Donna Belle. According to her, Donna Belle is a positive yet fierce person. In the first season, she’s frequently quarreling with Brianna (Elijah Alejo), but in the second season, Althea’s character became more understanding toward others as part of character her development arc.

On the other hand, Elijah holds the cast’s relationships and bonding, as they’ve been working together for nearly three years on Prima Donnas, close to her heart. She and the other young actresses on the cast grew up together while working on the series.

“When I started on Prima Donnas, I was 14. Doon ako nag-celebrate ng 15th, 16th, and 17th birthday ko. Talagang part na ng life ko ang Prima Donnas and yung mga memories ko dito na natutunan, yung mga lessons, hindi ko kakalimutan hanggang sa pagtanda,” Elijah said.

Award-winning actress and director Gina Alajar directed the two seasons of Prima Donnas and saw just how much the young actresses matured on and off-screen.

“They’ve shown great talents. Ngayon nasa kakanila na ‘yon kung aalagaan nila ‘yon dahil mahaba ang tatakbuhin nila dito sa buhay ng showbiz. Acting is a 24/7 education—nagbabago yan everyday. Hindi [ka] pupwede mag-stay sa isang kind ng acting,” Gina said.

She also guided the young actresses on how to become better at playing their roles by encouraging them to explore different avenues, actions, and emotions that show a variety while being apt for the scene.

Prima Donnas’ last episode airs tomorrow, April 30, on GMA-7.
