The country’s leading network has recently unveiled its summer campaign that features fun-filled activities under the sun that can be enjoyed more as shown by the stars of the upcoming GMA shows and specials this April and May.
On April 9 and 10, Julie Anne San Jose made an explosive return in the third and final leg of the New York Festivals TV and Film Awards’ finalist Limitless, A Musical Trilogy. After the first two legs in Mindanao and Visayas, the last installment of this extraordinary musical experience was set against the backdrop of beautiful Luzon in Limitless Part 3: Rise.
Every Sunday beginning April 24, Sparkle love team Sofia Pablo and Allen Ansay are set to brighten up your afternoons with Raya Sirena. The show tells the story of Raya (Sofia), who continues her journey of self-discovery both as a human and mermaid, and the importance of love for friends and family.
Premiering on Afternoon Prime on April 25 is Raising Mamay, the heartwarming drama on the reversal of roles between a mother and her child. A teenage daughter, portrayed by Shayne Sava, takes care of her scornful mother, played by Aiai Delas Alas, who was stricken with brain regression after being shot in the head.
Romance-comedy False Positive is set to air on May 2 on GMA Telebabad. Bannered by Xian Lim and Glaiza de Castro, the series showcases a neglected wife who malevolently wishes in front of a magical fountain, resulting in the husband developing a fetus in his tummy.
Also airing on May 2 is Apoy sa Langit, a compelling series that showcases an unusual story of betrayal and family affairs. The drama is headlined by Maricel Laxa, who continues to return to the small screen coming from her stellar performance in Mano Po Legacy. She is also joined by Zoren Legaspi, Mikee Quintos, with showbiz newcomer Leanne Valentin who is set to play a challenging role.
As the country votes for its next set of leaders, GMA Network is all set to deliver the most comprehensive election coverage across all platforms through Eleksyon 2022: The GMA News and Public Affairs’ Election Coverage on May 9 and 10. It is led by GMA News pillars Mel Tiangco, Mike Enriquez, Vicky Morales, Arnold Clavio, Howie Severino, and Jessica Soho.
And on May 14, catch the highly-anticipated TV comeback of Kapuso royal couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera-Dantes in Jose and Maria’s Bonggang Villa. The weekly sitcom is about the most hospitable couple you’d ever meet who will start a garden bed and breakfast business.
Meanwhile, Love You Stranger is likewise set to air soon on primetime. Top-billed by real-life couple Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos, the mystery romance series revolves around a film designer searching for the truth behind a shadow monster from folklore feared by her reclusive mother and the charming young director whose next movie is about the same shadow creature.
Concluding the program offerings for this summer is Kapuso actress Kylie Padilla making her TV comeback with the original series Bolera on May 30. She breathes life to a billiards prodigy who aims to prove herself worthy of the male-dominated sport and her struggles along the way. Joining her are Rayver Cruz and Jak Roberto.
