Cornerstone’s head-turner Abed Green makes acting debut

Christmas and New Year came early for Cornerstone’s up-and-coming artist Abed Green as he was cast to star in GMA’s longest-running drama anthology, Magpakailanman on its Christmas special episode that aired on Dec. 25.

Up-and-coming actor Abed Green is a member of Cornerstone’s Gen C. He’s a model, a basketball player, and a social media personality.

In the Christmas episode,  Abed played the role of Jessy Hernandez, a Filipino-Australian, who longs to see his biological father. The search for his real father opens up conflicts and makes him realize more the importance of the family who adopted him. 

In an interview, Abed shares his excitement upon knowing that he was chosen to be part of the special episode, “Sobrang solid. I think all my acting workshops have finally paid off that’s why I’m so happy to get the role.”

“I felt nervous and at the same time challenged because the show entrusted me with the lead role,” the model and cager said.    

Abed was part of Cornerstone’s new roster of multi-talented artists, the Gen C. He undergone training and workshops facilitated by top-caliber directors in the country such as Joyce Bernal, Irene Villamor, and Dan Villegas.

Right after launching, he joined the cast of VivaMax’ Pornstar 2 : Ang Pangalawang Putok and on WeTV’s The Kangks Show with Angelica Panganiban, directed by Antoinette Jadaone. 

In this episode, he worked with veteran actors Rita Avila and William Lorenzo. His onscreen partner for this episode is one of GMA’s rising actresses, Liezel Lopez. 

When asked what is his greatest asset as an actor, Abed answers “My eagerness to learn from my co-actors and production. Ready ako matuto.” 

Abed started his career when he was discovered as a model for a clothing line last year.
