It was in 2011 when actor Pancho Magno began his showbiz career. He made his debut in the fantasy series Amaya.

Ten years later, Pancho renewed his contract with GMA Artist Center, allowing him to further hone his craft and star in more projects.

During a press conference held for his contract renewal, Pancho shared that as a big fan of cinema, he’s grateful for the opportunity to portray some of the roles, especially the deeper ones, that he watches.

Throughout the ten years since he started acting, Pancho has starred in television series with various genres such as drama, fantasy, romance, and action. He considers his career as a never-ending learning experience where he continues to learn new approaches in tackling roles and applying them to his future projects.

Although Pancho has already starred in several action series, he hopes to become part of similar projects in the future, especially in stories that go beyond the physical and violent aspects of the genre. He also hopes to work alongside some of the industry’s legends and learn from them.

From ‘First  Yaya’ to ‘First Lady’

Pancho starred in various programs over the years, including the Encantadia remake (2016) and Victor Magtanggol (2018). One of his most recent roles is in the television series First Yaya. He plays Captain Conrad Enriquez, the main security detail for Gabby Concepcion, who plays the role of the president of the Philippines.

The series concluded in July, but a continuation to the series, titled First Lady, is scheduled to premiere in 2022.

Unlike the series it precedes that focused on Sanya Lopez’s role as Melody Reyes, an ordinary woman who leads an extraordinary life as the nanny Philippine president’s children, Pancho shared that First Lady tackles the story of almost every other character involved.

Apart from telling a dynamic story through the developing plotline and chemistry between the characters, Pancho shared that the series also hopes to educate its viewers about the country’s law, how public officials handle matters around the country, and some of the basics of politics that fascinates even Pancho.

The show also raises awareness of what happens in the lives of public servants behind closed doors.

Fatherhood

The actor admittedly has a lot to look forward to in his life.  Besides his bright future in showbiz, Pancho is also excited about his role as a father to one-year-old Skye Anakin, who was born last year on July 6.

Even though the actor has a busy schedule that keeps him away from his son most of the time, he takes every chance he gets to spend time with Skye by taking him on excursions upon returning from lock-in tapings.

Being the protective father that he is, Pancho gets himself tested for COVID-19 and waits for a negative result before he gets close to his kid.

Pancho also hopes that the first leg of the production for First Yaya will wrap up a few days before Christmas so he can spend time with his family. He shared that his family spends the holidays together by playing games and giving gifts.
