Perpetual Comm wins 3rd Sorok Short Film Fest viewer’s choice award

University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (Las Pinas Campus) senior AB Communication students recently bagged the Viewer’s Choice Award for their film Ang Aking Bayani in the recently concluded 3rd Sorok Short Film Festival: OFW:Lakbay-Puso, held on Dec. 30 last year at Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, Makati City.  

Ang Aking Bayani was also one of the 13 finalists along with another Perpetual- AB Comm film entry Omoide No Hako (Box of Memories). The two films competed against 37 other films produced by students, alumni and faculty from other universities in the country.

Ang Aking Bayan, which served as the final project of the AB Communication students  in Film Production class, was produced by Alas Quatro Productions, directed by Kurt Donovan Buenagua, written by Nehlee Guande, Denise Abuel, Lailani Cruz, Lara Tandoc, Jrish Jimenez, Jhunel Santos and KBuenagua.

The competition’s theme this year is “OFW: Lakbay-Puso,” for the bravery of our modern day heroes, the Overseas Filipino Workers. Sorok Uni Foundation Inc. is a humanitarian organization working for and with Forgotten Neighbors – the homeless, abandoned, neglected individuals and families who suffer from social stigma and economic restrictions due to disease and or poverty.
