We’ve been saying that in Oscars, only films with universal themes, not necessarily poverty porn, are the only ones that catch the eyes of the jury. Let’s just put it this way, Ma’Rosa was the country’s best bet for the Oscars among a sea of will-never-make-it-to-the-Oscars film. Let’s just wait until one filmmaker realizes what theAcademy is really looking for in a foreign language film.
