During the film fest’s third edition held last Saturday, Angel was named “Best Actress of the Decade” relegating her contemporaries as just television and movie talents. The Kapamilya star, on the other hand, took to Instagram to share the recognition with her million fans and thank them for their unwavering support.

Even if 2NE1 is no longer together, Filipinos still continue supporting the “Pambansang Krung Krung.” A testament to her being the brightest Korean star in town, her solo performance during the finale of Boy Band Superstar trended on Twitter and the video of her performance went viral on YouTube shortly after the show ended. Her fans will support her all the way whatever she does or decides to do as a solo artist.

Some say her star is fading but her supporters say otherwise. And to show that they are right, and that they are big in numbers, they trooped to a mall in Quezon City where the Dubsmash Queen was having a show. As a result, Maine’s brief tour caused commotion and traffic congestion in the area. You know, something that only happens when superstars arrive. If only Maine had a regular show other than Kalyeserye, then it would be easy for her to silence her detractors.

Ogie Alcasid
Over the weekend, the singer-songwriter was officially introduced as a Kapamilya. Although he’s already appeared in several Kapamilya shows in the past few weeks, it’s only now that Ogie’s change of network was formalized. The 49-year-old OPM singer is joining the rest of other Kapuso singers who recently joined the Kapamilya network in a show where washed out stars make their initial appearance.
Cesar Montano
He’s been appointed to head the country’s Tourism Promotion Board. As the COO, his duty is to promote the Philippines domestically and internationally. Although we don’t know yet if Cesar would stop doing movies and TV shows since he’s got a few projects underway, one thing we are very sure of. If he couldn’t promote his own movies, how could he promote effectively the country’s tourism?
Kris Aquino
People will no longer see her on TV unless she has a special guest appearance or interview that normally involves, well, her life and her ongoing struggle to be part of the mainstream media. Kris, instead, will be seen by her fans doing a series of shows that can be viewed online via Facebook Live. We heard networks are a bit reluctant in giving Kris the media mileage she is asking for. Now it can be said, Kris is no longer a queen, not even of social media.
