The cast of the country’s no.1 primetime series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano joined the festivities in this year’s Panagbenga Festival and expressed their gratitude to over two million spectators for the success of the hit show .

Bringing fun to the event were Coco Martin, Maja Salvador, Xymon Pineda, and Pepe Herrera who joined the festival’s grand float parade. Around 30,000 supporters also flocked to the Burnham Lake Drive to watch the series’ cast who entertained them with special performances.

Martin, meanwhile, visited and bonded with the residents of Barangay Irisan.

As the scenes get more thrilling in the Coco-starred series, Cardo (Coco) successfully saved Trina (Anne Curtis) from the hands of the rebels led by Roberto (Nonie Buencamino).

To protect Trina though, Cardo lets Trina stay in their house until they find out why Roberto is plotting revenge against Trina’s step-father Michael (Christopher De Leon). Now that they are living under one roof, will Cardo and Trina get even closer to each other? What other dangers should Cardo prepare for?

Julia continues to lure Sam

Julia Montes as Kara (left) and Sara (right) in the afternoon soap “Doble Kara”

The tension between Sara and Kara (Julia Montes) is getting more intense in the hit Kapamilya series Doble Kara now that Sara is using Kara’s boyfriend Sebastian (Sam Milby) to get even with her twin sister.

Kara had told their parents Ishmael (Ariel Rivera) and Laura (Mylene Dizon) that Sara received money from Lucille (Carmina Villarroel), which led to the twin sisters’ heated confrontation.

Angry that their parents are once again on Kara’s side, Sara rushed to Sebastian for comfort. It was all part of Sara’s plan, though,  to lure him and destroy his relationship with Kara.

Will Sara succeed with her plans? How can Kara and Sebastian protect their relationship from Sara?

Doble Kara airs Monday to Friday, after It’s Showtime on ABS-CBN Kapamilya Gold. For more information about the program, visit the official social networking site of Dreamscape Entertainment Television at Facebook.com/DreamscapePH, Twitter.com/DreamscapePH, and Instagram.com/DreamscapePH.

FPJ’s films helped Grace to be proficient in Tagalog

During the debate on Feb. 21 in Cagayan de Oro, among all the presidential aspirants, Senator Grace Poe emerged as the candidate who was very proficient in Tagalog.

Poe said she learned the language while watching the films of her late adoptive father, Fernando Poe, Jr.

In this aspect, she and her running mate, Senator Chiz Escudero, are very compatible. Escudero also speaks flawless Tagalog.

“Pareho kaming nanonood ng mga pelikula ni FPJ. Pareho kaming nagmamahal sa wika natin. Pareho kaming nag-aral sa UP,” Grace said.

When she was just a little girl, FPJ tutored her on how to speak in Tagalog properly.

Her father is proud to be a Filipino and loves the language that was why he helped to propagate it. Thanks to his films and he did.

That is why Poe is against the plan of the Commission on Higher Education to remove Filipino as a subject in the college curriculum.

“Hindi po ako sang-ayon diyan sapagkat ang ating wika ay basehan ng ating kultura, basehan ng ating pagmamahal sa ating bansa,” Grace emphasized.

“Ano na lang ang kaibahan natin sa iba kung wala tayong sariling wika na ipinagmamalaki? Okay magaling tayong mag-Ingles, importante rin iyan, pero mas mahalaga ay marunong tayong magsalita ng sariling atin,” the senator added.

Heart made Chiz believe in forever

When the students in San Fernando, La Union asked Senator Chiz Escudero if  he believes in forever in love during a consultation with students and barangay officials, the senator was very candid.

“Noong una hindi,” he said. “Pero nung nakilala ko si Heart, naniwala na ako sa forever.”

Escudero had been married before he met Heart Evangelista. His marriage was annulled eventually and he married Heart in 2014.

He told the students that forever would not be not easy to achieve. Partners should work together for it, then nurture it.

“Ang forever, dapat ipaglaban, hawakan at huwag bitiwan. Dahil hindi ganon kadali yon. Pipiglas yon, papalag at susubukan kumawala. Dapat nandun ka, sigurado ka sa sarili mo at kailanman huwag kang bibitiw,” the senator said.

Chiz and Heart have been married for a year, and everyone knows that things were not very easy at first.

It was only last year that Heart’s parents accepted Chiz as their daughter’s life partner, and now they are supporting him in his bid to become the next vice president of the country.

As a role model for the youth, the senator was able to compare love life with the struggle to get a good education and land a decent job.

“Sa anong bagay man, pag-ibig man, ambisyon man, pag-aaral man, trabaho man o pamilya man. Pareho pa rin ang batayan, pareho pa rin ang prinsipyo na dapat gamitin kaugnay noon,” Escudero shared.
