The obvious pun and play on the galaxy’s milky way makes much sense when tracing back his path to stardom and how big he has become as a household name with the moniker Rockoustic Heartthrob.
Oh, the word household itself puts everyone back to the famed Bahay ni Kuya when in Pinoy Big Brother’s first edition a decade ago, he ended up as the biggest name to come out of that house to the tune of the anthemic “Pinoy Ako.”
On Nov. 28, Sam will give back the love with a show where he intends to sing the big hits from his multi-awarded recording career and share the stage with famous faces special to him and who played significant roles in his storied career. The venue is set at The Kia Theater in Araneta Center in Quezon City, while the guest list is a who’s who in showbiz in which Sam is definitely qualified to be: Piolo Pascual, Yeng Constantino, KZ, Gerald Anderson, Enchong Dee, Rayver Cruz, Angeline Quinto, John Prats and other surprise guests.
This star-studded show comes at a hectic, prolific time for Sam and he makes it extra special in essence.
For one, he is busy taping for a brand new soap at the moment, Written In Our Stars (in which he is cast alongside Piolo Pascual, Toni Gonzaga and Jolina Magdangal). The series will air on ABS-CBN in early 2016. Another one on the plate is a brand new album this year, which means another set of songs rendered through his emphatic vocal delivery that Sam’s followers miss for some time.
Then, as shown through the runaway success of the ongoing movie The Prenup, in which he stars opposite comeback actress Jennylyn Mercado, Sam is bound to star in a couple of new films, one under Regal Films, another to be produced by the rising film outfit Spring Films. As of this writing, The Prenup is still raking it in at the box office on the eve of his big concert celebration.

Regine back on the concert circuit

Regine Velasquez will star in her own concert series called Regine at the Theater.
The series kicks off on Nov. 7 and will run for three more shows thereafter on Nov. 8, 21 and 22 at the The Theatre at Solaire.
The series is heavily supported by PLDT after her Regine series of telephone units became a big hit among consumers. The PLDT officers, in fact, were surprised that there still has demand for landline units, and Regine who is the endorser of the series confirmed it.
According to Regine, the show is like her way of thanking her supporters for always being around no matter what. Also it is a chance for her to do something different from what she usually does in her shows.
“I will be performing a lot of broadway tunes and songs from Filipino musical theater. Wala lang para naman maiba,” she said during a press conference recently at the Luxent Hotel.
