A church in honor of  St. John Paul II will rise at the Timberland Heights development of Filinvest Land Inc. in San Mateo, Rizal.

Filinvest coordinated with Bishop Gabriel Reyes of the Diocese of Antipolo for the project. Ground-breaking will be  in the first quarter of 2015.

“Even the exit doors will bear the inspiring lines of St. John Paul II’s ‘Be Not Afraid’,  and visitors will feel the solemnity as they reach the landscaped sunken garden,” said Filinvest Land Inc. senior vice president Francis Ceballos.

Pope’s Relics

The Church of St. John Paul II complements the mountain scenery at
Timberland Heights.

The relics of St. John Paul II were put in exhibit at the Timberland Heights and Nature Club last December 29 to 31, 2014.

The exhibit was part of the “Totus Tuus Tour” organized by the Office for the Cause for Canonization of Blessed Ivan Merz in the Philippines. “Totus Tuus” was the pope’s  motto that means “totally yours”.

“The architectural design of the church would easily blend with Timberland’s natural setting creating the mood for devotion and meditation,” said Ceballos.

Architectural simplicity

Things are looking up for this scenic township as it gears for the opening of the Adventure Farms, a satellite organic educational farm park for kids, as well as the development of the Timberland Outlook Park to showcase the city skyline. Timberland Heights recently launched  ‘The Leaf’ , a condotel operated by the Timberland Heights Sports and Nature Club.

Timberland Heights has been a popular location for  nature hikes, bird watching expeditions and mountain bike obstacle course races because of its natural sloping topography spread across a 677-hectare township.
