Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA was recognized for its exemplary commitment to responsible business practices, earning the hotel the coveted Responsible Business Hotel of the Year Award 2022, which was given at the South East Asia and the Pacific Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) General Managers Conference held in Bali, Indonesia last month.
The hotel’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility were key factors in achieving this prestigious award.
Own Your Energy, a global brand campaign, which aims to encourage both team members and guests to conserve energy by submitting personal pledges, was one of the key initiatives that the hotel continues to drive. The hotel was recognized as 1st Place, besting all other 28 hotels in the South East Asia and the Pacific region, gathering a total of 162 pledges. This in turn has significantly reduced the hotel’s carbon footprint.
The hotel was cited for its Sustainable Garden, where herbs are grown and used for food and beverage offerings. This initiative does not only promote sustainable produce but also ensures the freshness and quality of the ingredients used in the hotel’s menu.
In addition, the hotel is actively involved in youth, scholarship, and employment programs. In fact, two students who completed their hotel internship in 2022 were hired by the hotel, providing them with valuable work experience and career opportunities. This initiative demonstrates the hotel’s commitment to nurturing and developing young talents in the hospitality industry.
The hotel partnered with Diversey Philippines and Fresh Hope for Families Philippines Inc. for Soap for Hope, which aims to support the livelihood of disadvantaged youth. Through this program, soap donations are processed by the members of the community and transformed into new soap bars for sale. This program does not only reduce waste but also provides a valuable source of income for the local community.
Also, the hotel fully supports SOS Children’s Villages Philippines through various programs such as annual child sponsorship, SOS donation boxes, and visits to the children’s village. These initiatives help provide a safe and secure environment for the children in need.
