The root of communism

"Many have cut their ties with the leadership."

Santa Banana, the continued verbal tussle between President Duterte and the Makabayan bloc at the House of Representatives is no longer funny!

These are the organizations under the Makabayan bloc: Bayan Muna, Alliance of Concerned Teachers, Anakpawis, Gabriela, Kabataan, Katribu, Migrante, Akap-bata, COURAGE, PISTON, Kalikasan and Aking Bicolnon.

If you talk to former members of the communist movement, they will tell you that the Communist Party of the Philippines, founded and headed by Jose Ma. Sison, is a movement that has since been decriminalized by President Corazon Aquino. It was because her husband Ninoy was a friend and sympathizer of the communists. The CPP is no longer monolithic as it was before. Many groups no longer believe in the communist ideology of overthrowing the government. Many of them have become bandits, doing extortion in the countryside.

My gulay, who do you think subsidizes Sison and Luis Jalandoni who are in Europe living luxuriously, while their comrades live miserably on the hills as they are pursued by government forces?

I have been told that many leaders of the NPA have separated from Sison.

The fact that the daughter of a member of the Makabayan bloc was killed during an encounter with soldiers is the best proof of the alliance between the bloc and the NPA.

My gulay, has the Makabayan bloc denounced the communist movement for the many victims of the New people’s Army? Never. The line taken by the bloc is that it is denouncing the incompetence in government and the many cases of corruption.

The red-tagging of the Makabayan bloc is true and nobody can dispute it. They are still called militants.

When the strongman Ferdinand Marcos declared Martial Law in 1972, he broke the backbone of the communist movement. This is why they are against everything associated with the Marcoses. This is also why they have sanctified everything associated with the Aquinos.

It is odd that we still have the communist movement when the ideology has become non-existent. My gulay, China and the former countries of the Soviet Union have now become capitalists.

So, why is the movement still here? Poverty makes communism continue to be relevant. The communists promised poor people many things. They fed them the malarkey that under communism, everybody would be equal – no rich, no poor. . They also promised that under communism, corruption would end. This is why I believe that arguing with communists is a waste of precious time. Everybody should just ignore them!

The continued health restrictions and protocols in the National Capital Region and the rest of the country are there for good reason. For one thing, with the Christmas season just around the corner, people would want to go out shopping and meeting friends and relatives. How can you stop them from doing this? Just a few days ago, my wife got a call from a relative who said they would like to visit us. My wife simply said no.

Santa Banana, we have not gone out of the house since March!

There are reports that numerous congressmen are involved in public works corruption. I think it is unfair for those allegedly involved. If President Duterte has the names, why won’t he just submit them to the Ombudsman?

Failure to identify these lawmakers only fuels the speculation.

The man who should be naming them is Public Works Secretary Mark Villar, if indeed he has proof. That is his duty and obligation.
