Where is Kapunan coming from?

We wish to set the record straight regarding the latest malicious and baseless attack by Rod Kapunan in his Sept. 25, 2021 column (“The noose is tightening for the opposition”).

First, we wonder where Kapunan is coming from when he said supporters of the “Reforma Party (sic)” would avoid supporting Sen. Panfilo M. Lacson in the 2022 elections – more so if he was referring to the Partido Reporma, where Sen. Lacson is the party’s chairman.

Second, we wonder why Kapunan is trying so hard to discredit the Senate investigation into corruption involving overpriced medical supplies. We taxpayers should care because our money is involved here – unless of course, Kapunan does not pay his taxes.

That said, we wonder what rock Kapunan is hiding under when he claimed Sen. Lacson has no evidence of corruption and overpricing in the procurement of medical supplies. It was Sen. Lacson who extracted a confession from Pharmally employee Krizle Mago that she acted on instructions to have a warehouseman remove the “Expired” labels dated 2020 from face masks, and replace them with 2021 as the new expiry date. Mago also admitted upon further questioning from Sen. Lacson that she acted on orders from Pharmally treasurer Mohit Dargani.

Finally, we wonder if Kapunan has indeed been working full time in a troll farm: he can’t get his spelling right, he can’t get his facts right, and he cannot get his logic right, by the way he haphazardly composed what he passed to the Manila Standard as a “column.”

Nevertheless, we hope this will clarify matters and enlighten the minds of your readers. Thank you very much.
