Leni, Koko ratings inch up–SWS

VICE President Leni Robredo and Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III continued to receive “good” ratings for their separate performance in the fourth quarter of 2017, the latest Social Weather Stations survey revealed Wednesday. 

House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez’s net satisfaction ratings meanwhile  rose by one grade to “Moderate,” while Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno dipped to “neutral.” 

The latest survey, fielded from Dec. 8 to 16, found 63 percent satisfied and 21 percent dissatisfied with the performance of Robredo, with her net satisfaction ratings staying at “good” +42 in December 2017, up by one point from +41 the previous quarter.

The one-point rise in the overall net satisfaction rating of Robredo was due to a 16-point increase in Mindanao, offset by a steady score in Balance Luzon, and decreases of 8 points in Metro Manila and 5 points in the Visayas .

Some 62 percent said they were satisfied and 13 percent dissatisfied with the performance of Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III, whose net satisfaction ratings shot up to new personal high of Good +49, up by 3 points from his previous personal record of +46. 

The 3-point rise in Pimentel’s net satisfaction rating was due to increases of 16 points in Mindanao, 5 points in Metro Manila, and 5 points in the Visayas, combined with a 6-point decrease in Balance Luzon.

Some 38 percent were satisfied and 23 percent dissatisfied with Alvarez, resulting into a personal net satisfaction ratings rebounded to moderate, at +14 in December 2017, up by 6 points from his personal record-low +8 in the previous quarter. 

The 6-point rise in Alvarez’s overall net satisfaction rating was due to increases of 16 points in Mindanao, 9 points in the Visayas, 6 points in Metro Manila, and 1 point in Balance Luzon.

Meanwhile, Sereno’s numbers even dipped further with 34 percent satisfied and 28 percent dissatisfied, bringing her net satisfaction ratings to a neutral +6 in December 2017, down by 3 points from +9 the previous quarter. 

This is her lowest net satisfaction rating score since the neutral -1, which was recorded in December 2015.

The 3-point fall in Sereno’s overall net satisfaction rating was a result of the declines of 7 points in Metro Manila, 4 points in Mindanao, and 2 points in the Visayas, combined with a steady score in Balance Luzon.

The December survey, fielded among 1,200 adults, had sampling error margins of ±3 percent for national percentages.
