PUBLIC satisfaction with key government institutions remained “good” in the first quarter of 2017, the latest Social Weather Stations survey revealed Monday.

The survey, conducted among 1,200 respondents, found half of those polled said they were satisfied with the performance of President Rodrigo Duterte’s Cabinet while 17 percent were dissatisfied and 31 percent were undecided.

Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III said the results of the latest SWS survey indicated that the Senate was going in the right direction.

“Our positive numbers are encouraging, and can be viewed as an indicator that our people are pleased with the direction of the Senate and the work it is doing,” Pimentel said.

The Cabinet’s net satisfaction rating remained unchanged at a “good” +32, the same as in the previous quarter.

The Senate’s net satisfaction score was one grade and four points higher than December’s “good” +48 score.

Net public satisfaction with the House of Representatives remained “good”, edging up three points to +39 with 53 percent satisfied, 14 percent dissatisfied and 30 percent undecided from the previous +36 in December.

The Supreme Court’s net satisfaction rating similarly remained “good”, inching up two points to +40 with 56 percent satisfied, 16 percent dissatisfied and 27 percent undecided from December’s +38.

The First Quarter Social Weather Survey, conducted from March 25 to 28, had sampling error margins of ±3 percent for national percentages.
