WHILE most Filipinos continue to express confidence in Vice President Leni Robredo, her net trust ratings continue to decline in all regions, particularly in Mindanao, roughly a year after she was elected into office, the latest Social Weather Stations survey showed.

The First Quarter 2017 SWS Survey, conducted among 1,200 adult respondents nationwide, found 55 percent of Filipinos having much trust in Robredo, while 25 percent said they had little trust. The undecided remained at 20 percent.

Robredo’s +30 net trust rating, however, was 15 points lower than the +45 she recorded in December 2016.

SWS attributed the 15-point decline to the 32-point drop in Mindanao and 10-point fall in Metro Manila, Balance of Luzon and Visayas.

Robredo’s ratings suffered most in Mindanao, where it fell by two grades from very good (+52) to moderate +20.

Her ratings remained very good in the Visayas, although down by 10 points from +50 to +40 (59 percent much trust, 19 percent little trust) by March 2017.

Public satisfaction with Robredo’s performance as vice president was higher among those with much trust in her.
