“Ngayon ko pa lang sasabihin na ‘yung kandidatura ni Vice Mayor Isko Moreno para sa Senado ay aming i-aadopt siya bilang isang senador,” Marcos announced during the 23rd Annual National Convention of the Vice Mayors’ League of the Philippines at the Marriott Hotel in Manila.

“I am honored and humbled,” Moreno said after the convention.

“I would like to thank Senator Marcos. I was not even expecting it at all considering that they don’t have a senatorial line-up yet.”

Marcos said one of the reasons he chose Moreno is his experience in the local government. He said  the national government needed officials with a genuine concern for local government units.
