Rachel Rodeles Santiago, 1978-2021

Rachel Rodeles Santiago was a caring wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend and the reliable Chief of Staff of House Majority Leader and Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin G. Romualdez. She left this world peacefully on August 3, 2021 at age 43.

She is survived by her husband Edmar; children Kayden, 7, and Francesca Rae, 5; mother Enriqueta; sister Zeny; brothers Fr. Eric, Rogyruel, Reginald, Rodel, Roland, and Reynante.

Rachel was born to Enriqueta Campomanes Roncal and Juan Agnes Rodeles on July 15, 1978.

After graduating from Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) with Bachelor of Arts Major in Journalism and earning her Bachelor of Laws degree from Don Vicente Orestes Educational Foundation Colleges of Law (DVOREF), Rachel chased her dreams to work in the Philippine Journalists Inc. (PJI) as one of its executives and later the Chief of Staff of House Majority Leader Martin G. Romualdez and then Leyte 1st District Rep. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez who is now a congresswoman representing Tingog party-list.

The Romualdez couple considers Rachel not only as their most trusted Chief of Staff, but also a close friend and family.

Her friends and family described her as a go-to girl who was always reliable and helpful to anyone who needed assistance from her.

The Rodeles and Santiago families request prayers for the repose of her soul.
