Two soldiers were killed in an ambush in Barangay Magara, Roxas, Palawan.
Initial police reports say, the victims were members of the Philippine Marines with ranks of private first class and private.
The soldiers were reportedly buying some items in the community market when two unidentified suspects fired upon them.
Police in Roxas Municipal Station are on a manhunt against the assailants.
Cops believe the attackers were members of the New People's Army (NPA).

The Philippine Marines maintains a command post in Palawan, the province that faces the disputed West Philippine Sea.
