Wood producers to hold 70th assembly

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—Some 300 members of the Philippine Wood Producers Association would be holding its 70th General Assembly on Friday (Nov. 26) to discuss on matters vital to the forestry sector and its industry and find ways to contribute to the economic recovery following the coronavirus pandemic.

This years’ event is anchored on a theme “Sustainable Forestry for Economic Recovery”, aimed at providing the members of the PWPA with information about how the forestry sector and the forest industry can contribute to the economic recovery of the country.

Albay second district Representative Joey Salceda will be the guest-of-honor and speaker during the much anticipated event by the forestry sector.

As member of Congress and known economist, Salceda would be sharing his views about sustainable forestry as an agent for economic recovery and how it can promotes inclusive growth.

Other guests and speakers include Foundation for Economic Freedom President Calixto Chikiamco, RI Chem and CTNI President Meneleo Carlos, Jr., ARTIMCO Chairman and former PICOP President, and PWPA Trustee Evaristo Narvaez, Jr. and President of the Philippine Forestry Education Network and UPLB College of Forestry and Natural Resources

The PWPA is a non-stock and non-profit national association of corporations, partnerships and individuals involved in natural forest management, forest plantation development, manufacture of lumber, veneer and plywood, pulp and paper and other wood products as well as in trading, shipping, and sales of these products.
