Tingog Party-list nominee and actress-singer Karla Estrada on Friday led the donation of brand-new wheelchairs in Leyte to boost the morale of elderly residents by improving their mobility.

The distribution of wheelchairs by Tingog Party-list group led by Rep. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez, chairperson of the House Committee on the Welfare of Children, has been its mission as it gives inspiration and possible job opportunities to beneficiaries despite their physical handicap.

The Tingog Party-list group cited the importance of pursuing community support services and programs aimed at providing convenience and improving the mobility of people with physical impairment.

In her speech, Estrada, the mother of actor and recording artist Daniel Padilla, expressed deep gratitude to the Burawanons for their continued support to Tingog Party-list.

Anecita Sernal, a 92-year-old beneficiary, was filled with emotion as she thanked Tingog for giving her a wheelchair that will improve her mobility.

At the same time, Estrada paid a courtesy visit to Burauen, Leyte Mayor Juanito Renomeron, Jr. who expressed his deep appreciation to Tingog’s assistance to the elderly sector and other programs for his constituents.

Renomeron said his constituents have been very appreciative of Tingog’s programs especially in this time of coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) pandemic.
