Mayor Juhar Dimaporo Disomimba of Tamparan, Lanao del Sur has condemned the kidnap-murder of its native, Nadia Casar, 35, a Muslim who lived in Cavite and online jewelry seller with transaction in Nueva Ecija.

Official records suggested she and her Grab driver were kidnapped last July 20.

The driver was robbed of his mobile phone and cash but was released the next day.

He overheard the abductors telling Casar to contact her relatives for ransom money.

Eleven days later, Casar’s burnt corpse was discovered in Imelda Valley, Palayan City.

Initial investigation showed the five suspects wereNueva Ecija policemen.

They have been sacked from the police and charged before the Department of Justice.

Disomimba said that while Muslim-Filipinos live a life of peace, they are treated with violence and discrimination.

“The LGU-Tamparan and the Muslim community condemn the inhuman killing of Casar who was a constituent of Tamparan,” he said.

The mayor urged the government, Philippine National Police Chief Guillermo Eleazar and other Muslim-Filipino leaders to help in the speedy resolution of the case.

“Every Muslim-Filipino leader must stand up against violence and the heinous killing of Casar,” he said.

Earlier, the Commission on Human Rights declared that the crime was not only an assault on a woman, regarded as part of the vulnerable sector, but also a contempt for the law and human rights, performed by five police officers and two civilian accomplices.
