Members of the Social Security System may now apply for salary loans through its mobile application.
SSS president and chief executive officer Aurora Ignacio said the SSS mobile app version 4.0 was introduced to ease navigation and make presentations to users effortless.
“It magnifies our commitment to better serve mobile app users by continuously incorporating the latest in mobile technology,” Ignacio said in a statement.
The new features included a redesigned dashboard allowing enrolled members to check contributions, apply for and check the status of salary loans, view benefit claims and contribution payment services.
The mobile app has a branch locator feature wherein users can search for an SSS branch closest to them that is linked to Google Maps and Petal Maps.
For employers, the application could provide them with information about their contributions, and loan payments, and reimbursement claims.
Meanwhile, the SSS online funeral benefit claims were up 13.6 percent in first quarter, while it disbursed P6.23 billion in disability benefits in 2020.
