Inspired by the Maginhawa Community Pantry, several communities have also built community pantries for residents in need in Caloocan and Valenzuela.

Some of the communities that have also built a Community Pantry in Caloocan City are in Morning Breeze Subdivision, Saranay Road, Bagumbong, and Barangay 175.

The Diocese of Caloocan also participated in building a community pantry in front of the San Roque Church along A. Mabini.

Anyone can take enough according to their need and can also give according to their ability.

“We are glad that we are with our countrymen in the goal of making each other’s lives easier through community pantries. As we always say, this is not something the government can do alone; we need each other, we need a modern bayanihan in the midst of a pandemic,“ said Mayor Oca Malapitan.

Several community pantries also popped up in Valenzuela City in Tagalag, Lingunan, Dalandanan, and Malanday, where basic goods can also be donated to help fellow citizens in need amid the Covid-19 crisis.

Currently, there are many established community pantries across the country that are continuously supported through cash and in-kind donations.

It only shows the solidarity of the residents in the midst of the crisis now facing the entire country, as well as the self-discipline in getting enough they need to benefit others as well.

It is also an example of the struggle and cooperation between citizens and finding a solution to alleviate hardship through collective action and mutual trust.
