Quezon City Councilor Winston Castelo on Tuesday said he, along with his spouse Rep. Precious Hipolito-Castelo, will offer a mass for the victims of the coronavirus disease 2019 and even for health-care workers.

He said the mass will be held at the St. Peter Parish Shrine of Leaders on Commonwealth Avenue on March 16 at 10 a.m., “exactly one year since the pandemic erupted and the government started imposing calibrated lockdowns to contain the spread of COVID-19.”

He said during the program, they will also honor and thank donors known as “Warriors Against COVID-19 and others who have helped them in their various response projects.

“We cannot thank them enough for the help they have extended and continue to extend to us and our people during this time of pandemic,” he added.

On the other hand, the lawmaker said “we would like to remember and pay tribute to colleagues, friends, constituents and people we know as well as others we don’t know who have died or otherwise have fallen victim to COVID-19. We offer our prayers to them and their families.”

The mass is also a thanksgiving to countless health-care workers and other front-liners in the war against COVID-19.

The councilor is inviting friends and constituents to attend the mass, which is to be followed by a short program.
